I have spoken to Manitoba Hydro on 4 occasions and, per the Hydro Act, they will not set up an individual account. 91 other tenants on the property have been told the same thing. Iām concerned that your behaviour is suspicious and could be a tell-tale sign of meter bypass, a known component of illegal grow operation as it pertains to illicit drugs. The police have been notified. Individual account creation without access to the meter puts me at risk because I cannot monitor usage on a daily basis and again, your behaviour is suspicious and concerning. I will not be setting up an individual account also because Manitoba Hydro SAYS they will not and because Manitoba Hydro ACTUALLY will not. It is violation of law to do so. Simply add the total that is calculated for electricity to my monthly statement that accompanies the rent, and I will pay it in full. My decision is final. I will overlook the fact that electricity as included amenity was promised, then reneged. I will also overlook the fact that you promise 24/7 oversight but do not actually provide this.
